Advantage Africa supports the ideas and work of inspirational people in Africa to overcome poverty and disadvantage. Advantage Africa believes that lasting change in poor communities is best achieved from the inside. We identify and support the work of men and women in Africa who are selflessly commited to overcome hardship within their local communities but who lack the resources to fulfil their aspirations. Our encouragement and support enables these people to do extraordinary things by becoming catalysts for lasting change and hope in situations of great need. Our support is particularly focused on people who are 'doubly disadvantaged'. These are people who, in addition to poverty, are stigmatised and denied opportunities to improve their lives because they are disabled or affected by HIV/AIDS.
