Ecos Trust (a registered Charity) was established in 2000 and formerly known as the Somerset Trust for Sustainable Development. The Trust is based in the South West and promotes sustainable design and building techniques. It believes that sustainable design and construction is better for the environment, human health and social welfare. The Charity is no longer directly funded for its work but raises income through the events it runs and the consultancy it offers to both professionals and members of the public.
