St. Luke's Parochial Trust
United Kingdom United Kingdom  |  Community/Family

Our charitable aim is to improve the conditions of life for the people living in the area of benefit. We believe that providing a community centre will help break down barriers within the neighbourhood. It will contribute towards the area being welcoming, safe, healthy, alive with activity, and neighbourly.

St Luke's Centre and Trust is an historic but progressive neighbourhood charity working in one of the most diverse and deprived parts of inner-city London. We operate by identifying local needs, and tackle them with our own services, or pro-actively approach other organisations to offer them in our centre. For example, many of our services target older persons who suffer greatly from poor health, poverty and extreme isolation. The Trust owns a large community centre which provides the space for these services, and is on the cusp of starting a multi-million pound re-development project to improve and expand the building. Once completed, the new Centre will equip the charity to offer an even better local resource, attract the wider community, host more local services, and put us on a stronger financial base from which to serve the local community for another 450 years.
