Since 1948, Direct Relief International has worked to help people who confront enormous hardship to improve the quality of their lives. The tradition of direct and targeted assistance, provided in a manner that respects and involves the people served, has been a hallmark of the organization since its founding. As Direct Relief celebrates its 60th anniversary, it marks a major milestone: Since 2000, Direct Relief has provided $1 billion in direct aid through medical material assistance and targeted cash grants serving 49.8 million people in 59 countries worldwide. We work to strengthen the in-country health efforts of our partners by providing essential material resources - medicines, supplies and equipment.
