Our mission is to help communities of the Eastern Tibetan Plateau through cultural heritage preservation in conjunction with health and education development.

The Kham Aid Foundation was founded in 1997 in Los Angeles by three friends who wanted to make a difference in Kham. Its first undertaking was conservation of Tibet's architecture and art. Since then the Foundation has developed a broad range of assistance programs. KAF is a California non-profit corporation, and tax-exempt according to section 501(c)(3) of the US federal tax code.
