Celebrating 80 years of animals, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has grown from a small collection of animals back in 1927 to a world leader in the areas of conservation education, wildlife conservation and affordable, enjoyable family recreation. Known as the home of Jack Hanna, the Zoo is rich in history, including successes in breeding of endangered species, especially the Western lowland gorilla. The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).
