Education through experience and working involvement is a major branch of our mandate. ORES provides people everywhere with the opportunity to participate in its stimulating on-water work experiences, courses, and internships.

ORES is a dynamic international group conducting research into the ecology and habitat conditions of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Its founder Ned Lynas, a Canadian zoologist and behaviourist, directed the research for 25 seasons. Since fall 2002, the research station is directed by Ursula Tscherter in close collaboration with several other research organisations under the supervision from the Canadian departement of Fisheries & Oceans and Parcs Canada (Parc marin du Saguenay-Saint-Laurant.
