The Foundation of Appropriate Technology and Social Ecology (FATSE) at Langenbruck is the legal representative of the Centre for Approriate Technology and Social Ecology. It was founded in 1979 as a private institution.

Since 1979, the Centre of Appropriate Technology and Social Ecology CATSE develops and implements ideas for a sustainable future in the area of renewable energy. The knowledge gained from there is transformed also in education and technology transfer. Nowadays sustainable development attracts major attention - for the Oekozentrum Langenbruck this has been its main focus for the past 30 years. We raise our funds mostly with commissional projects carried out on the free market.
