More information
CMT United Kingdom is the national support group for people affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease (CMT), and their families and carers. CMT is a condition that affects the nerves in your legs and arms, known as the peripheral nerves. Currently, there is no cure for CMT; however, this does not mean that there is nothing to be done, careful management of the condition can have a beneficial effect on the long term prognosis. We want to promote research into the means by which CMT may be prevented and treated and to circulate the results of such research for the benefit of the public, and we offer assistance and support to those people who have Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, also known as Hereditary Motor and Sensory Neuropathy or Peroneal Muscular Atrophy. We offer a service of support, advice and information, by means of telephone contact, letters, email, e-magazine.
