The Visalia Rescue Mission is a Christian Social Service organization. The Mission has been called "The Mission of the Churches". It was established in 1981 to represent the Church to the Tulare/Kings County homeless. We also are here to minister to the formerly incarcerated and those with addictions. We cooperate with other agencies and organizations to alleviate hunger, homelessness and substance abuse. This will in no way prohibit or compromise our goal of professing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our training and education focus on every aspect of a person’s life. Residents learn how to deal with real life issues without returning to their former unhealthy dependencies. They grow in Christian character through recovery classes, meetings and Bible studies. They grow in intellect through education with an opportunity to earn their high school equivalency and/or learn viable job skills at the Mission Learning Center.
