Over the years, the Museum's holdings have grown to encompass a distinguished collection of American art from the nineteenth century to the present, with a particular focus on the art and artists of Long Island's East End, and includes paintings by American Impressionist William Merritt Chase and works by the pre-eminent 20th-century realist Fairfield Porter. The Parrish is located in the heart of Southampton Village on historic Job's Lane. Built in 1898, the Italianate-style building sits on 2.6 acres of peaceful, shaded gardens. The grounds are decorated with various sculpture reproductions from the original Parrish collection, including eighteen marble busts of Roman emperors and a full-length marble copy of the Augustus of Prima Porta from the Vatican collection in Rome.
