Liberty Science Center is an innovative learning resource for the lifelong exploration of nature, humanity and technology, strengthening communities, and inspiring global stewardship.

Liberty Science Center is a New Jersey nonprofit corporation dedicated to offering exceptional science learning experiences onsite, offsite and online. Located in Liberty State Park, Jersey City, NJ, we engage learners of all ages in science excitement, provide professional development for teachers, and actively connect people of all backgrounds to pivotal science and society issues. Located in historic Liberty State Park, neighboring the Statue of Liberty and across the river from Lower Manhattan, Liberty Science Center first opened its doors in 1993. But it truly began in the 1970s, when a series of editorials in the Star-Ledger newspaper pushed state leaders to recognize that more educational resources were needed to build a science- and technology-savvy population.
