Huntington Medical Research Institutes (HMRI) is an independent, nonprofit, public-benefit organization dedicated to improving health and prolonging life by enhancing knowledge of life processes and disease, and by developing technology to diagnose and treat diseases.

Huntington Medical Research Institutes was founded in 1952 and operates in five locations in Pasadena, California. Facilities on El Molino Avenue are devoted to cardiology research and cancer, including cell culture studies and clinical trials of a new drug for treatment of prostate cancer. Adjacent laboratories on Union Street accommodate the molecular oncology and molecular neurology programs. The building on Fairmount Avenue houses the neural engineering labs. Additional sites on Pico Street and Fair Oaks Avenue house the Liver Center, magnetic resonance labs and clinics, as well as the MEG facility.HMRI provides advanced training in magnetic resonance spectroscopy, co-sponsors postdoctoral fellowships with the California Institute of Technology, and conducts mentor programs for college and graduate level science students.
