The BOMA Project is a U.S. nonprofit and registered Kenya NGO with a proven track record, measurable results and a transformative approach to poverty alleviation, women’s economic empowerment and climate-change adaptation in the arid lands of rural Africa. Our Rural Entrepreneur Access Project (REAP) replaces aid with sustainable income and gives women the tools they need to start small businesses in their communities. With this new and diversified source of income, they can survive drought, feed their families, pay for school fees and medical care, and accumulate savings for long-term stability. At The BOMA Project, we believe entrepreneurs can build a world where aid is no longer needed. To date, we have launched 925 businesses across Northern Kenya, impacting the lives of 3,300 adults who support more than 17,000 children.
