More information
The New Fund for Cinema and Television (NFCT), founded in 1993 to promote and encourage cinema in Israel, specializes in documentary films and also supports dramatic, feature and experimental cinema. It supports and nurtures outstanding Israeli filmmakers as well as educating the public to appreciate Israeli cinema in general and creative documentaries in particular. Since its founding, the NFCT has facilitated the production of several hundred documentaries, as well as many outstanding television dramas, been the only Israeli film fund to support experimental cinema, initiated innovative programs such as Greenhouse, advanced the work of emerging filmmakers, and supported challenging, trail-blazing projects on previously untouched subjects. A leader of Israeli cinema, it is internationally recognized as the organization behind the success of documentary film in Israel.
