More information
Caring For Carers Ireland have a National Network of 106 Carers Groups throughout Ireland. A carer is a person of any age who takes on the responsibility of looking after a close family member, relative or friend, who cannot manage at home without help because of frailty, physical or mental health problems or disability. Their role may involve 24 hour day and 7 day week commitment without respite and often very little financial help or emotional support. Caring for Carers Ireland aims to benefit this selfless community by promoting the health, well-being and quality of life of Family Carers and those for whom they care, by working in the areas of recognition, provision of information, respite, training, research and advocacy to promote social inclusion .
