To conduct scientific research about international conflicts, healing and restoring human beings and societies.

The Life & Peace Institute (LPI) is an international and ecumenical centre that supports and promotes nonviolent approaches to conflict transformation through a combination of research and action that entails the strengthening of existing local capacities and enhancing the preconditions for building peace. The Institute collaborates with churches, international ecumenical bodies and other peace organisations. The work of the LPI is global, and the Institute works with partners regardless of their ethnic, political or religious background.
