We were founded in 1994 by a coalition of non-profits working towards social justice. They came together to innovate, finding new paths to transform the communities in which we live. Alternatives’ programs leverage and reinforce the work of local men and women. Our partnerships facilitate networks of social movements to develop shared solutions to shared problems and to open new avenues for action by ensuring that social progress, respect and justice are at the core of our communities. Alternatives has become a community of communities. More than a charity organization, Alternatives is a movement, a network. A dream, a reality, a space from which social change emerges.
