Childline was founded by Ms. Jeroo Billimoria, in June 1996 as an experimental project of the department of Family and Child Welfare of TISS. Since then Childline has come a long way and today it has become a nationwide emergency helpline for children in distress. We work for the protection of the rights of all children in general. But our special focus is on all children in need of care and protection, especially the more vulnerable sections, which include: street children and youth,
child labourers, children affected by physical / sexual / emotional abuse in family, schools or institutions who need emotional support and guidance.
