Canadian Humanitarian began operations in 1995 under the name Canadian Advocate for African Children, which sought to alleviate the plight of orphaned, abandoned and disadvantaged children through international adoption and humanitarian aid. It became necessary to separate our humanitarian activities from the adoption program, so a separate organization called Canadian Humanitarian Organization for International Relief was founded in 2003.
