The Leary Firefighters Foundation was founded in 2000 by actor Denis Leary to honor the memory of the 6 firefighters perished while trying to put out a fire in the actor's hometown Worcester, Massachusetts. Since it’s inception in 2000, The Leary Firefighters Foundation has worked to provide fire departments with funding and resources for the best available equipment and training. The mission of The Leary Firefighters Foundation is to bridge the gap in public funding so that firefighters have the best available equipment and training to meet the extraordinary challenges of a very dangerous job.
