Established in 2008 the Foundation works with individuals, organisations and businesses with an interest or passion for Latin America to help support grass-root projects that have genuine benefit on communities throughout the region. Thanks to the support of members, the LATA Foundation has already begun to make a difference. Over 20,000 trees were planted in Peru in January 2009 and we are helping to fund a cottage industry in Guatemala to produce natural cosmetics. We have begun a waste-management and recycling project in Brazil and are supporting the work of Children of the Andes in Colombia. Throughout summer 2009 we raised funds for a new clinic to provide free dental care to disadvantaged children in Buenos Aires.
