The Durban Children’s Homes is a non-profit organization, which was founded in 1905. The core business of the organization is to provide needy children, young people and their families with a range of services, which recognizes their existing strengths and provides opportunities for them to meet their developmental needs. The Developmental Approach provided the framework for the services provided to children, young people and their families in each of the programmes offered. A strengths based perspective, ensures that children, young people and their families are viewed as unique individuals who have meaningful contributions to make to their own future. The Rights of Children are central to all our programmes and are respected and advocated for at all times.
