Our volunteers are well known for the thousands of hours they spend each year ensuring public events are safe. We're also the leading first aid training provider in the UK and the third largest youth organisation. We've been providing first aid cover at major public events since Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. We respond to all kinds of emergencies, from major emergencies to car accidents, weather incidents and fires. Last year we trained 325,000 first aiders to cope with first aid emergencies both at work and in the home. Our Community First Responder volunteers are trained to attend emergency calls received by the ambulance service and provide care until the ambulance arrives. We provide a range of patient transport services, transferring patients to a wide range of non-emergency medical appointments such as admissions to and discharge from hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and other medical facilities.
